Today on our 2014 Chevy Traverse, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift roof-mounted Bike Rack part #Y02098. To begin our test-fit we're going to go ahead and place the rack on top of the vehicle. I'm going to open the doors here and that way I can stand in the doorway just for a little bit more height. So with our rack in position, the first thing that we're going to do is there's a T-bolt that goes in here. When it's in this position it will be stuck. If we place it in this position we can actually open this up. more

Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Cruze we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima Front Loader, a wheel mount bike rack, part number Y02103. With our Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack already assembled on our Cruze, we'll begin our test-fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our cross bars. On the front cross bar we'll want the two outside parts of the clamp and the front of the bar and the one center piece of the clamp behind it. We'll now use the black T handle to tighten both halves of our clamp around our front cross bar. With this tight, we'll move to the rear. Here at the rear we're going to loosen the black T handle and remove the T bolt form the lower half of the clamp. We'll then bring it around our rear cross bar, reinsert the T bolt into the appropriate slot and tighten it with our black T handle. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader, a wheel mount roof bike rack with part number Y02103. With our factory roof rack already on the Suburban we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we're going to want the two outside arms of the clamp in the front of the crossbar and the single middle arm of the clamp behind it. We'll then tighten the black t-handle located on the front. This will squeeze our front crossbars securing our rack. Here at the rear we're going to loosen the black t-handle. This will allow us to remove the t-bolt from the lower portion of our clamp. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our factory roof rack already on our Suburban well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front well remove the skewer, slide back the black cover and loosen our T handle. This will allow us to remove the T bolt from the slot in the lower portion of the clamp. Well then bring that lower portion of the clamp around the underside of our cross bar, put our T bolt back through the appropriate slot and tighten it down with the T handle. With the clamp secure well slide our black cover forward again, and then reinsert our skewer. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Suburban we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number TH528. With the factory roof rack already installed on our Suburban we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our crossbars. At the front we're going to place the strap into the front foot of the carrier. We'll use the black lever on the rear of the foot to tighten our strap around our crossbar. With the front tight we'll move to the rear and we're going to repeat the same tightening process. With our rack secured at our vehicle we're ready to load up our bike. We'll first undo our rear wheel strap and make sure that our front skewer is open. We'll then grab our bike, place our bike on the bike rack. more

Today on our Chevrolet Suburban, were going to be test fitting the Swagman upright roof bike rack, part number S64720. With a factory roof rack already on our Suburban, were going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our cross bars. Here at the front well bring one of the U-bolts around the underside of our cross bar and fit it up through the head of the carrier. Well then thread on two of the wing knots to help hold it in place. Well take a second U-bolt and well repeat that same process, bring it up to the head of our carrier and threading onto the wing nuts.We can then tighten all four of the wing nuts down. This will secure the front of our rack. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader, a wheel-mount roof bike rack, with part number Y02103. With our Rhino-Rack 2500 series roof rack already on the Malibu, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto the cross bars. At the front we'll bring the clamp around the bar. We should have two tabs on the front side of our load bar and one tab on the rear. We'll then tighten the black T-handle to secure it to our rack. With our front secure we can move to the rear. Here we're going to loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot in the lower portion of our clamp, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert the T-bolt into the lower portion of our clamp, and tighten down the black T-handle until it's secure. With the rack secure to our vehicle it's now time to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and extending our front wheel cradle all the way out. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu we're going to be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our Rhino Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack already installed on the Malibu, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we're going to remove the skewer, slide back the black plastic cover, and loosen the t-handle located here. We'll then remove the t-bolt from the lower half of the clamp, bring the clamp around our load bar, reinsert the t-bolt, and tighten down the black t-handle until the front of the rack is secured to our bars. We'll then slide forward the black cover and replace our skewer. With our front secure we'll move to the rear and again we're going to loosen the black t-bolt, remove the t-bolt from the lower half of the clamp, bring the clamp around our bar, reinsert the t-bolt in the appropriate slot, and tighten it with the black t-handle. With our rack secured to our vehicle it's now time to load our bike. We'll first undo our rear wheel strap and make sure that our front skewer is loose and open. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number TH528. With our Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already installed on the Malibu, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front we'll bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside of our load bar and fit it back into the head of the carrier. We can then turn the small black lever to tighten it in place. We found that initially it's better to have it straight to get the slack out and then turn it at a 90 degree angle to get some good torque on it. With the front secure we'll now move to the rear. Again, we'll bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside of our load bar, fit it back into the foot of the carrier, and then use the black lever to tighten it down. With our rack secured to our vehicle, it's now time to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and loosening our front skewer by turning the knob on the front. more

Well take a second U-bolt, bring it around the underside of our load bar, fit it through the other side of the head of the carrier, and secure it in place with two wing nuts. Well then tighten down all four wing nuts to secure the rack to our front load bar. Here at the rear, well place our U-bolt down through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our load bar. Well then place the black rubber coated metal plate onto the U-bolt and hold it in place with two wing nuts. Well then tighten these down to secure the rear of our rack. With our rack secure, its now time to load up our bike. Well first undo our wheel straps and make sure that our frame clamp is open. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to be test fitting the swagman fork mount, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number S64710. With our Tully Rapid Traverse Roof Rack system already installed on our Malibu we're going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring one of the U-bolts around the underside of our load bar, fit it through the head of our carrier, and hold it in place using two of the wingnuts. We're going to take a second U-bolt, again fit it around the underside of our load bar through the head of our carrier, and secure it as well using the two wingnuts. We'll now tighten all four of our wingnuts down to secure the head of our carrier to our rack. We'll now move to the rear. Here we're going to place the U-bolt through the rack, being sure that it comes out on both sides of our load bar. We'll then place on the black metal plate and hold it in place using two wingnuts. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, we are going to be test fitting the Rockymounts Tie Rod Stretch, a fork mount rook bike rack with part number RKY10111 with our Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already installed on our Malibu. We are going to begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front we are going to remove our black plastic cover and fit the straps into the head of the carrier in the appropriate slots. We'll then take an Allen key, tighten the Allen bolt to secure the front of our rack. With the front secure, we'll replace the black plastic cover and then we can move to the rear. Here at the rear we are going to remove one of the Allen bolts completely, bring our clamp around our load bar, reinsert the Allen bolt and tighten both Allen bolts down with an Allen key. With our rack secure, it's now time to load our bike. We'll begin this by undoing our rear wheel strap and making sure that our front skewer is open and loose. We'll now grab our bike, place it on to our bike rack, we'll guide our front forks onto our front skewer, we'll secure it here first then we can move to the rear wheel and secure it with the strap. Just like that our bike is loaded up and we are ready to hit the road and that will complete today's test fit of the Rockymounts Tie Road Stretch part number RKY1011 on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu were going to be test fitting the Kuat Trio, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number RU01. With our Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already installed on the Malibu well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front well bring the black rubber coated metal U bolts around the underside of our load bar, put it through the head of the carrier and hold it in place with the two cylinder nuts. Well take the second black rubber coated U bolt, and again bring it around the underside of our load bar, through the head of our carrier and place two cylinder nuts on it. We can then take our provided Allen tool and tighten how all four of these cylinder nuts down, firmly securing our rack to our front load bar. At the rear were going to completely remove one of the wing nuts, slide our clamp into position to where we have one of the bolts coming down on both sides of our load bar, bring the metal plate up, fit the bolt through it and replace our wing nut. more

We'll take a second U-bolt and again, we'll bring it around the underside of our crossbar, fit it through the head of our carrier and place two wing nuts on it as well. We'll then tighten down all four of the wing nuts and that will have the front of our carrier secured to our crossbar. We'll now move to the rear. Here we're going to place the U-bolt down through the rack, being sure that the threaded portion of it comes out on both sides of our crossbar. We'll then place on the black metal plate and hold this in place with two wing nuts. We'll then tighten down both of our wing nuts to secure the rear of our rack and just like that, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll first undo our rear wheel strap. more

Here at the front, we'll bring one of our black rubber coated metal U-bolts around the underside of our crossbar, fit it through the head of our carrier, and thread on two wingnuts to hold them in place. We'll then take our second black rubber coated metal U-bolt and repeat that same process. With all four of our wingnuts started, we'll go ahead and tighten them down. This is going to secure the front of the rack to our vehicle. With our front secure, we'll move to the rear. Here we're going to take the black plastic portion of our clamp. more

You can now move to the other side of the head of the rack and do the same thing with another U-bolt and 2 wing nuts. Now with all 4 of these secure, we can move to the rear. Here were going to take one of the U-bolts and put it down through the rack, being sure that one of the arms comes out on each side of our crossbar. Well then put on the black metal plate, secure this in place using 2 wing nuts. Once we have these secure, were ready to load up our bike. more

At the front of the rack, we'll bring the two black rubber coated metal U bolts around the underside of our bar and through the head of the carrier. At the top, we'll then secure it using two wing nuts. We'll repeat the same process for the other side of the head of the carrier. With all four of our wing nuts secure in the front, we can move to the rear. The first step will be placing the black plastic part of our clamp in between our roof rack and our crossbar. more

We'll bring the black rubber coated metal straps around the underside of our front bar, remove the black cover, and fit these straps into the head of our carrier. We'll then take an Allen tool and tighten the Allen bolt located on the front of the carrier to secure this around our cross bars. With the front secure, we'll replace the black plastic cover then we can move to the rear. Here at the rear we are going to remove one of the bolts in the clamp, bring the clamp around our cross bar, reinsert the bolt, and tighten down both bolts to secure it. With our bike rack nice and secure it's now time to load our bike. We want to undo the rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer is open. We'll then grab our bike, place it on to our bike rack and guide our front forks down on to the front skewer. more

At the front we'll take one of the black rubber coated metal u-bolts, place it around our load bar, and up through the head of the carrier. We can then thread on two cylinder nuts to hold it in place. We'll now take the second u-bolt and place it on the other side of the head of the carrier, thread on the two cylinder nuts here, and then we can take the provided tool and tighten them down. With all four cylinder nuts in the front tight, we'll move to the rear. Here we're going to completely remove one of the wing nuts, move the bolt so we have one on each side of our crossbar, bring the bolt back through the clamp, thread on our wing nut, and tighten them down. more

We'll then take our second black rubber coated u-bolt and repeat that same process. We can then take the included tool and tighten down all four cylinder nuts to secure the front of the rack to our Suburban. With the front secure we'll now move to the rear. Here we will remove one of the wing nuts, separate our clamp, bring one of our bolts to the front side of our crossbar leaving one behind, reinsert the bolt through the metal portion of our clamp, and thread on a wing nut. more

With the Yakima and Q Towers Roof Racks system on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicles cross bars. Starting at the front, you will need to remove the skewer first so that you can slide the security cover and access the wing nut. Well need to loosen up the wing nut to position the front bracket around the underside of the front bar. With this done, well need to insert the silver T bolt into this slot on the bottom part of the bracket. Then we can go ahead and tighten it down. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Impala, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Roof Mounted Bike Rack. Part number Y02103. With the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll need to make sure that the bar goes between the two sets of teeth at the front of the bike rack. Before tightening that down, we'll move to the rear and adjust to make sure the rear bracket is around the rear bar. Once that's done, we'll slide the silver T bolts into the slot of the bracket and turn it so it locks into place. We'll then tighten down the black wing nut to secure the rear part of the bike rack to the rear bar. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Impala, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Upright roof mounted bike rack, part number S64720. With the Yakima Q-towers roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle cross bars. Starting at the front, we'll need to pull out our hardware and take the silver U-bolts, go around the underside of the front bar and off through the predrilled holes of the head of the carrier. We'll then take our black wing nuts that thread down onto the silver U-bolts. Once both U-bolts are installed in the front, we'll go ahead and move to the rear, where this time where we'll take the silver U-bolt to go down through the predrilled holes of the bike rack. The silver U-bolt will go through the holes in the back plate. We'll then take our black wing nuts to thread down onto the silver U-bolts. more

Today on our 2014 Chevy Impala, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. Starting in the front we'll take the silver U-bolts to go around the underside of the front bar, and up through the pre-drilled holes of the head of the carrier. We'll then take our black wingnuts to thread down onto the silver U-bolts. Once the front is secured, we'll move to the rear, and this time we'll take the silver U-bolt to go down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack. We'll take the black plate, which the silver U-bolt will go through the holes of the black plate, and we'll take the black wingnuts to thread down onto the silver U-bolts. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll need to double check to make sure the skewer is loose at the front and that our cam buckle strap is on down at the rear. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our Yakima Q-towers roof rack system already installed on the Silverado, well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, were going to remove the skewer, slide back the black plastic cover, and loosen the T-handle. This will allow us to remove the T-bolt through the slot. Well then separate our clamp, bring the lower portion of our clamp around the underside of our crossbar, reinsert our T-bolt through the slot, and tighten it down with the black T-handle. We can then slide our black plastic cover forward, and reinsert our skewer. With our front secured, its time to move to the rear. more

To get the front, we'll bring one of the U bolts around the underside of our crossbar, fit it up through the head of the carrier and thread on two wing nuts. We'll then take a second U bolt, bring it around the underside of our crossbar, up through the head of the carrier, and secure it with two wing nuts and well. We'll then tighten down all four of our wing nuts, and that will have the front of our rack secured through our vehicle. more

Then moving to the rear, we'll loosen up the black wing nut, bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar, insert the silver T bolt into the slot, and tighten it down with the black wing nut. We'll then move back up to the front, and tighten on the black T handle. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll unfold the front part of the wheel mount, and we'll undo the strap at the rear. more

Now moving back up to the front, we'll use the included Allan wrench to tighten down the silver bolt, to tighten down the straps up against the front crossbar. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. more

Well then use the included Allen key to tighten it down. Now moving back up to the front, well again use the included Allen key to tighten down the silver bolt to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front crossbar. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, were ready to load up our bike. more

We'll secure it by placing a wing nut on each end of our U-bolt. Once we have those tightened down, we can repeat this process for the other side. Here at the rear, we'll place our plastic fitting between our bike rack and our rear crossbar. Then we'll drop our bolts through the top of the bike rack making sure that they go through the holes of the fitting then we'll secure it by tightening down a wing nut on each bolt. more

Then, we'll place our plastic fitting in between the bike rack and the rear crossbar. Then, on the underside of our rear crossbar, we can install the rubber-coated clamp, making sure that the bolts go through the holes. more

Today, on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth Roof Mounted bike rack, part number TH599XTR. With the Thule Traverse Roof Rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll bring our clamps around our front bar, fitting the T bolt through the appropriate slot and using the wing nut on top to tighten it down. We'll do this for both sides of the front platform at the front of our bike rack. Here at the rear, we'll loosen up one of the wing nuts to bring our clamp around our rear bar. We'll make sure the bolt is going through the metal plate, and then, we'll tighten both our wing nuts to secure the rear part of our clamp. With the front and rear secure, we'll go ahead and undo the wheel straps and make sure our frame jaws are open. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack, securing it first with the frame jaw, placing it around the lower part of our frame. Then, we'll close the lever at the bottom of the frame jaw bar. more

We'll then take the silver brackets to go on the underside of the front bar, up into the pre-drilled holes of the front of the bike rack. We'll then take the black wing nuts to thread onto the threads of our bracket to secure the front part of the bike rack to the front bar. We'll then repeat the same steps for the other bracket. Now, moving to the rear of the bike rack, we can take the silver bracket and this time, slide it over top of the bar through the pre-drilled holes in the bike rack; taking the black plate to rest on the underside of the bar and threading on our wing nuts to tighten it down. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll place our bike up on the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer. more
